Playlist to Please Ya

By Lane Silva

Fall semester has started and summer is slowly coming to a close but that doesn’t mean our beach days are behind us.  So take this general purposed playlist as a tool to enjoy all the things you do, from a soundtrack to study with, to your hangout with friends.

Make sure to check out tracks like “Girls” by The 1975.  This chimey gliss-pop tunes captures the vibe of 80’s pop with punchy dance and funk elements.  It’s an upbeat and danceable tune and its terribly catchy.  (also see “Ondine”, by Lower Dens, and “Rollercoaster” by Bleachers for that retro vibe).

Tracks like “What You Know” by Two Door Cinema Club, “Ride” by Twenty-One Pilots and “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood, play as smooth and all around enjoyable picks from three of my favorite indie artists.

For a more relaxed feel I included songs from the reggae family. Artists like Bob Marley & The Wailers, Passafire, and Sublime made their way onto the playlist for their simple but elegant vibe, which is my favorite for days in the sun, whether it’s by the pool or at the beach.

Finally, I included artists such as From Indian Lakes, Damu the Fudgemunk, Bon Iver, and Moose Blood, simply because they are some of my Go-To’s. All of the above mentioned are very different from one another and bring their own interesting brand of music to the playlist. Enjoy them on my Spotify- as much as I do.
